At the age of 14, the main character already has her third job. While other teenagers enjoy the hot summer at the swimming pool, she stands behind the even hotter deep fryer and serves the bathers. After work, she is too tired to jump into the pool herself and the snide comments from the others sap her strength. This is when the snake of shame appears for the first time, constantly whispering to her that she is not good enough. And no one trusts her to go to grammar school. Nevertheless, she feels this irrepressible urge to follow a path in life that no one in her family has ever been able to follow. She wants more self-determination and ends up studying art in a roundabout way. - Is she finally where she wants to be? Will she ever get rid of the snake of shame?
Director Babett Grube brings the autofictional graphic novel "Scheiblettenkind" by Eva Müller to the stage for the first time with great enthusiasm and tells of emancipation and social inequality.
