Experience two monumental works by Dmitri Shostakovich combined in one extraordinary concert. Under the direction of the celebrated conductor Andris Nelsons, the Festival Orchestra, the Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Boston Symphony Orchestra will perform Shostakovich's moving Chamber Symphony in C minor op. 110a, a powerful arrangement of his 8th String Quartet for string orchestra, which combines the musical intensity of the original with a new dimension of sound space.

The interval is followed by the powerful 7th Symphony in C major op. 60 ("Leningrad"), a work of historical significance that reflects the terrible years of the Second World War and the siege of Leningrad in an epic musical arc. This symphony, known for its fighting spirit and resilience, becomes an unforgettable experience in an extraordinary interpretation by the united orchestra.
