An extraordinary concert evening awaits you with five outstanding artists who together present the profound and passionate music of Dmitri Shostakovich. Under the direction of Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider (violin), Baiba Skride (violin), Antoine Tamestit (viola), Gautier Capuçon (cello) and Daniil Trifonov (piano), an evening full of musical sophistication and intense emotions unfolds.

The concert begins with the moving Sonata for Viola and Piano op. 147, Shostakovich's last work for a solo instrument. This sonata, characterized by a calm, almost meditative mood, offers an intimate and thoughtful reflection on the end of life and music. Antoine Tamestit and Daniil Trifonov perform this masterpiece with the utmost sensitivity and musical depth.

The impressive Quintet for piano, two violins, viola and cello in G minor op. 57, one of Shostakovich's most outstanding chamber music works, follows after the interval. In this work, the instruments merge into an impressive unity that ranges from dramatic tensions to lyrical moments. It is a powerful work that reflects the composer's complexity in a particularly intense form.
