Schostakowitsch Festival - Quatuor Danel & Gewandhaus-Quartett

An evening of intense string music awaits you: two outstanding string quartets performed by two top ensembles - the Quatuor Danel and the Gewandhaus Quartet.

The concert begins with Shostakovich's gripping 13th String Quartet in B flat minor op. 138, which will be performed jointly by the two ensembles. A work of dramatic depth that reflects the composer's complex emotional world. This is followed by Shostakovich's Two Pieces for String Octet op. 11, in which the composer reveals his masterful technique in the interplay of eight string instruments.

After the interval, the powerful 5th String Quartet in B flat major op. 92 will be performed by the experienced musicians of the Quatuor Danel and the Gewandhaus Quartet, making it an unforgettable experience.
