Schreiben, schreiben. Gieriges Eintreiben – Ein Abend mit Lisette Lombé

In the organizer's words:

"ASK ME if I forgive you for the cuddly left, for the bloodsucking right, for the insatiable belly of the center," reads the second poem published by Lisette Lombé (born 1978 in Namur, Belgium) in her role as Belgium's national poet for the years 2024 and 2025. For Lombé, activism and poetry are inextricably linked: "No poetry without slam, no poetry without commitment, no life without poetry." The poems in the Prix Grenades-winning volume Brûler brûler brûler (Éditions de l'Iconoclaste 2020), which has now been published in German translation by Odile Kennel under the title Brennen brennen brennen (Association A 2024), bear witness to this: In unmediated, frenzied verse, Lombé addresses racism, homophobia and sexual violence as well as feminist solidarity and bicycle demonstrations, female desire and ageing. The political and poetic force of her writing reveals its origins in slam and the urgent topicality of her concerns: "My writing is aimed at the living, my language at the last ranks and their reality."
