Schumanns Klang-Salon III - Frauen erobern die Bühne

From curiosity to mass medium: the path of the sound carrier
ran almost parallel to the conquest of the cultural landscape
by female musicians. Not only in politics, but also on stage and in the concert hall
stage and in the concert hall, women shook up male autocracy. And so the early sound documents include
numerous recordings of pioneering women who defied the prejudices. Female composers and pianists also accompanied social change with music.

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Klang-Salon would like to commemorate the women of the first generation. It invites you on an acoustic voyage of discovery, where we revel together in historical recordings from the early days of sound recording. At the same time, it marks the beginning of a series on Clara Schumann as a teacher, friend and artist.
