150 years of dance history in 35 minutes: A swan-like apparition in a striking, black and white patterned one-piece suit points her finger in the direction of her feet. These are barefoot and stand one behind the other, with two white sneakers in front of them. What is dance? What can dance be? Which bodies dance? In the solo performance "Swan Lake in Sneakers", choreographer Anna Till and artist Nora Otte introduce us to the multifaceted forms of dance and express the power of transformation inherent in every body. A playful approach to the milestones of dance history - from the classic "Swan Lake" to German expressive dance and the big names of contemporary dance.
The piece thus moves in a cross-over of styles that switch from the everyday to the grotesque, from the classical to the experimental. And in passing, it asks: is waiting for the bus actually dance? "Swan Lake in Sneakers" playfully conveys European dance history and its influences. The production sees itself as a creative transfer of knowledge for young people that does not seek completeness, but rather passes on different perspectives on dance and movement.
