Science-Fiction-Klassiker "Lautlos im Weltraum"

Astronaut and botanist Freeman Lowell (Bruce Dern) and his colleagues are tasked with saving the last surviving plants on Earth, where all nature has been destroyed. Lowell enthusiastically tends the huge artificial biospheres in the spaceship, while his colleagues do not share his idealism about saving nature. When they are ordered to abandon the project, Lowell's resistance grows. Following the film, we will discuss science fiction and its relationship to planetary and social realities: How does science fiction deal with environmental destruction and climate change? What scenarios does it provide us with - of life in other, artificial atmospheres?
