The MEMENTO ODESA project, initiated by composer and musician Sebastian Studnitzky and his project partner Anastasiia Pokaz, has existed since 2023. The declared aim: to raise awareness and donations for Ukraine and create a connection through music. In March 2024, they succeeded in bringing the Odesa Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra on its first tour to Germany. Back then, Studnitzky brought his project to the Pantheon Bonn for the first time, and there will be a repeat performance in May this year! Also on board are new pieces that Sebastian Studnitzky composed especially for the expansion of the project and which - among others - were released on the album "Memento Odesa" in November 2024.
The activities of the MEMENTO ODESA project are supported by the non-profit organization More Than Music e.V. This association also donates the profits from the project to aid projects in Ukraine.
Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist Sebastian Studnitzky works across different styles. In addition to various jazz projects, electronic club music and so-called crossover between jazz, electro and classical music play a major role. He is probably the only musician in Germany to have been awarded both the ECHO JAZZ and the OPUS Klassik, and that on 2 different instruments (trumpet & piano).
