An essayistic film about the Jewish rabbi Sabbatai Sevi, who declared himself the Messiah in the 17th century and gained followers from Izmir to Jerusalem, Amsterdam and Cairo. The film invites you on a journey around Sevi's restored birthplace in the Agora district of Izmir. A narrative unfolds around this fascinating figure, pointing to what has been excluded from official history, to urban legends and to the region's complex past.

Işığın Hasadı (Harvest of Light)

In the Evren district of Ankara lives a community of seasonal workers who have come with their families to harvest onions. They struggle to cope with numerous challenges in their lives. In the documentary, a generator that only produces light for two hours a day becomes a metaphorical symbol of hope. In this short time, the workers tell their stories in the midst of hard work and the determination and effort to take control of their lives.
