Film student Willie Lindmann has a special idea for her graduation film: she wants to shoot the reunion of her parents, who haven't seen each other for 20 years. She hopes that this will bring up topics that are long overdue and that the two of them will be able to meet normally again afterwards. Her boyfriend is to capture the whole thing on camera. As simple as the idea is, the implementation is complicated: first, father Jürgen arrives with his new wife Uta and her adopted brother. Mother Gloria arrives late as usual, but as soon as everyone is under the same roof, it doesn't take long for emotions to boil over. And when Willie's boyfriend proposes to her, the project gets completely out of hand.
