@failingfemmes
The workshop is donation based (0-5 Euros),
no registration necessay
In an increasingly hostile world towards BIPoC, queers and people with marginalized identities, it can be useful to know how to defend yourself and each other. This can help us to move more freely and safely through the world.
I did Tae Kwon Do for 5 years (red-blue belt) and Jeet Kune Do for 2 years. In this session, I want to teach you the fundamentals of self-defense and answer your questions about which martial art might be the one for you in case you want to go on with training. So whether you just want to try it out once or are looking for a starting point, this is for you 🙂
I will not assume gender, pronouns or abilities based on your appearance. TIN people are especially welcome.
My trainer's philosophy was thateveryone can be a fighter and that gender does not matter. In order to prove this, he showed me stories and pictures of female fighters through the ages making the point that being a fighter is a mindset and clever use of your body. It is not bound to a specific type of body or gender. In a world that tries to ever more put us in two gendered boxes, this way of thinking is more precious to me than ever and I hope it will show in the spirit of my training.
I am nonbinary, white and able-bodied.
This is my bluesky profile:
