A deep understanding of the diversity of gender and sexual identities is essential in order to comprehensively support all young people, especially queer, trans* and non-binary people, in their individual personal development. This seminar is aimed at (socio)educational staff and professionals who want to expand their skills and create an inclusive, supportive environment. It offers you not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical instructions that can be applied directly in your everyday work.
What you can expect in this seminar:
Basics and definitions of terms: Learn the meanings behind terms such as LGBPATINQ+ and understand the differences between binary and non-binary gender identities.
Diversity of lifestyles: Discover the breadth of sexual and romantic orientations and how this knowledge can be applied in an educational context.
Gender-sensitive communication: Learn how gender-sensitive language can actively help to avoid stereotypes and promote an inclusive atmosphere.
Reflection and privilege awareness: Recognize your own privileges through self-reflection and understand how these can influence the educational environment.
Practical action skills: Gain concrete skills for working with young trans* and non-binary people through case studies and interactive exercises.
