On Saturday, April 5, 2025, a new chapter in German sporting history could be written in the MBS Arena in Potsdam: The reigning WBC, WBA and WBO World Atomweight Champion Tina Rupprecht, 32 years old, from Augsburg, fights against the Japanese IBF World Champion Sumire Yamanaka for the status of "Undisputed" Champion, for the unification of all four major world titles- WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO.

A victory would make her the first female or male athlete in German boxing history to hold all the major world championship belts at the same time. Only ten men and eleven women worldwide have ever achieved this extraordinary success in the history of boxing - almost exclusively from the boxing strongholds of the USA and England.

With the Berlin SES light heavyweight Nick Hannig , a real local hero will be making his first title defense of the WBO European title this evening in Potsdam against Mateusz Tryc from Poland. In November last year, Nick Hannig defeated the Görzig SES boxer Tom Dzemski by TKO in the 8th round in a thrilling German duel in Chemnitz in the fight for the vacant WBO European light heavyweight championship. After hard strikes and Nick Hannig 's dominance from the 6th round onwards, the referee was forced to stop the fight in the 8th round. TKO victory for Nick Hannig and he celebrated as the new WBO European light heavyweight champion!

In addition, WBO Junior World Champion Julian Vogel from Aschersleben will defend his WBO Youth super-welterweight belt against 23-year-old Czech Milos Beranek in Potsdam.
