Free improvisation conducting session

This time it will be structured chaos: instead of an On Stage Get Set! - session, we will dive into the world of conduction - an exciting method of free improvisation with clear hand signals. The conductors take turns, the orchestra reacts spontaneously.

A low-threshold, inclusive improvisation session where everyone - from beginners to advanced players - is welcome.
The conduction hand signs provide impulses for the music, create structures and open up new sonic possibilities. A space for spontaneity, interaction and musical surprises.

Instruments & technique
Bring your own instruments or use the existing equipment: amps for guitar/bass, keyboard, drum set and microphones are available.

Open & appreciative atmosphere
TUMULT stands for exchange and experimentation. Everyone should feel comfortable - discriminatory behavior is not tolerated. We focus on a respectful atmosphere. Pay attention to yourselves and others during the session. Be supportive and encouraging. The stage is for everyone and should promote exchange and break down barriers. Any kind of racist, sexist or otherwise discriminatory contributions in the performances will not be tolerated.

Conduction symbols
We work with a selection of symbols from various improvisation traditions (Butch Morris, London Improvisers Orchestra, etc.).
