What do Udo Jürgens, Vicky Leandros, ABBA and Nicole have in common? They all once won the biggest music show in the world, the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson. With a pop song and at a time when microphones still had cables. Composer Rolf Kugel, once known as Mr. Grandprix, would sell his soul for the next big hit. But neither Roy Black nor Karel Gott show up when Rolf Kugel conjures up the spirits of the hits. Instead, the Godfather of Punk, Iggy Pop, appears. With spotlights and rambazamba, Iggy takes Rolf Kugel on a club and time travel to the 1970s and 1980s: to CBGB's in New York - where Kugel falls in love with Blondie - from there to the Roxy in London and on to Tübinger Straße in Stuttgart. This was the location of the legendary Mausefalle, where DAF, Campino and co. danced the German pogo.

In the battle for hit supremacy, Kugel and Iggy deliver a top-class Schlagerpunk song contest! And until the very end, one question burns under everyone's guitar riffs: Will Kugel land the next big hit and linger in the oh-so-beautiful hit moment? There are always miracles.
