Shabaka & Nduduzo Makhathini

It will be a summit meeting: with Shabaka Hutchings and Nduduzo Makhatini, two of the perhaps most influential, but above all most independent musicians of contemporary jazz will meet for this special evening of Enjoy Jazz and play their first concert together. Shabaka Hutchings, multi-instrumentalist and composer from the London jazz scene, became known for his intense saxophone playing in bands such as The Comet is Coming and Sons of Kemet. In 2024, he announced a break from the instrument he stood for in order to turn his attention to various forms of flute. Nduduzo Makhatini, a multi-award-winning pianist and composer from South Africa, combines scientific curiosity, post-colonial philosophy and boundless sound like no other, seeking to both heal and challenge his listeners. A collaborative evening at the very highest level!
