In jazz, accessibility is quickly suspected of being kitsch. Especially when it is confused with simplicity. After all, it is a fine art to create accessibility on the basis of an artistic approach that is not primarily driven by the desire for popularity. One of the grand masters of this art is the Israeli trio Shalosh. The band's basic tone is always slightly roughened, the melodies hypnotic, sometimes almost hammering in their catchiness. The Shalosh sound combines the best of many genres and miraculously always leads to a kind of "stream of contemplativity". In contrast to this is the vocal artistry of Davidavi Dolev. The "extreme vocal technique" teacher became known as the singer of the avant-garde metal band Subterranean Masquerade, among others. His solo project "Le Petit Suicide", in which he processes "experiences with spiritualism through the lens of a bipolar disorder", celebrates its premiere at Enjoy Jazz. An evening that transforms clarity into beauty, in two very different versions.
