She She Pop: Alles Mögliche

In the organizer's words:

About the event:

If a wish machine were set in motion in this room where we are meeting right now. If everything possible, i.e. every idea and every notion that we speak into the microphone here, were realized in the course of the evening; perhaps not exactly as intended, but still recognizable - despite all inadequacies and contradictions. If, from now on, nothing was lost as soon as it was spoken. If this place, our togetherness, could constantly transform - into a funeral service? a séance? a tribunal of truth? - until we finally find ourselves in the unpredictable space of our sheer shared imagination.

Everything possible is a happening on an empty theater stage. It follows two simple rules: Everyone does what they want. But whatever happens here - it has to be conjured up in public beforehand. The disarmingly simple recipe combines the rigor and transparency of conceptual art with the chaotic richness of the spectacle. The performers prepare themselves individually. In spontaneous collaborations and unexpected overlaps, a sketchy utopian image of society emerges. What laws, limits and possibilities exist in this public space where we are currently gathering? What others are conceivable? The performance begins as a ceremony and gradually transforms into other unpredictable formats.

Everything possible is a training of collective imagination, individual initiative and collaboration. And a celebration of the unique present in the theater.

About the artists:

She She Pop is a Berlin-based feminist performance collective that emerged from the Giessen Institute for Applied Theater Studies in the 1990s. The members see themselves as authors, dramaturges and performers of their stage action. The inclusion of their own autobiography is primarily a method, not the purpose of the work. She She Pop practice a form of theater that is committed to experimentation. They use the stage as a place of acute publicity: this is where decisions are made, ways of talking and social systems are tried out, speech gestures and social rituals are rehearsed or discarded. She She Pop see their task in the search for the social boundaries of communication - and in their targeted and artistic transgression in the protected space of art. The theater becomes a place for utopian communication. The audience is also often given a special function: all of She She Pop's works are, in their own way, experiments or demonstrations that would be invalid without witnesses.
