It is to be the next big blockbuster: Director William Miller is determined to make a movie about the famous master detective Sherlock Holmes. To realize his project, he has hired Mary Short, Carl Frederickson and Ivan Pavlov - all actors he is convinced will become the next big movie stars. But things go wrong right from the start of filming: the actors clash, producer Miles Archer interferes and hires the arrogant Thor Baxter, of all people, to play Dr. Watson. When the police get involved because of a murder, William Miller's big dream seems to be over...
