From Iran to Belarus, from Fridays for Future to the great debates on discrimination - revolutions and processes of social change today often have a female face. Based on the courageous women in Iran, the award-winning journalist Shila Behjat examines the special features of female protest. From conversations with the leaders of the movements, a lively reportage emerges that shows: Even under the most adverse circumstances, women are no longer just victims, but protagonists of history. Has the female age long since dawned?

Shila Behjat is a journalist, publicist and presenter with German-Iranian roots. As cultural editor at ARTE, she is responsible for documentaries and new formats. Most recently published: Raising sons as a feminist (2024).

Andrea Schwyzer works in Hanover as a freelance radio journalist and presenter for various ARD stations, including NDR Kultur.
