SHOOTING SNOW WHITE - a f*cking modern fairytale

A modern fairy tale and a physical theater performance for a female read body.

Anna Lisa Grebe embodies and presents her own version of the fairy tale about the seemingly dead beauty waiting for a prince who may never come. By placing herself, her soul, her heart and her own nakedness on stage, she radically reveals the absurdity of the patriarchy - always with the laughing and crying eye of a clown*.
In over 60 minutes, the performer transforms herself into Snow White, the wicked stepmother, the huntsman, the dwarves, the horse, even the mirror and the prince - using her body as a living, changing canvas. Her transformation is raw and impulsive: she sings, dances, screams and cries, transforming the fairy tale into a wicked satire of our times. Apples become puppets, beet becomes a ripped-out heart and a piano turns into a deflowered glass coffin.
The performance is an emotional rollercoaster ride that transforms the stage into a space to explore how these archetypes in fairy tales shape our perceptions and gender norms. Can we rewrite them? Can we rewrite the stories so that they challenge old values, or do we have to bite the bullet?
The audience is invited on a journey into the glass coffin, where in a humorous way, emotions, movements and clichés are turned upside down to reveal something new, something that breaks out of the glass coffin.

Anna Lisa Grebe is an actress, singer, dancer and WenDo trainer. Born in a small village in central Hessen - Leihgestern, she was thrown into the world in 1988. Shortly before the Berlin Wall fell and her dog Petra died. Interested in music, nature, feminism, chaos and food, she decided one day to study musical theater at the HMT Leipzig and another day to study acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. After more than 10 years of experience as an actress, musician and dancer at various theaters, gyms, opera houses, living rooms and festivals in Germany, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Austria, her curiosity brought her to the Accademia Dimitri in Ticino, where she put the old Snow White fairy tale through the mincer with her master's degree project "SHOOTING SNOW WITE - a f*cking modern fairytale". She now works as a freelance performer in Germany and Switzerland and is directing this summer's Zirkus Wunderplunder with her collective ZenZero.
