Signs of the Times – Inner Self

After the great success of the first exhibition in 2023, the sequel will follow in summer 2025: tattoo artists Jonas Herdejost (Strange Fantasy Tattoo, Marburg), Adrian de la Fuente and Holger Engel (Clownfish Tattoo, Giessen) will jointly present the exhibition "Signs of the Times - Inner Self". The show is once again supported by the Giessen Cultural Office and can be seen at the KiZ cultural center from 16 August to 14 September 2025.
Over 100 renowned tattoo artists from all over the world will be showing their work. The focus is on the theme of "Inner Self" - the exploration of personal emotions, experiences and perspectives. The works on display take up well-known tattoo motifs and relate them to personal themes. This interplay of love, fear, growth and biographical turning points invites the audience to reflect and exchange ideas.
With its brutalist interior design and sophisticated lighting concept, the KiZ offers a special exhibition space. The exhibits are optimally staged on two floors.
Supporting program with lectures and podcasts
The exhibition will be accompanied by a varied supporting program. For example, tattoo historian Manfred Kohrs will give lectures on the history of tattoos. Live podcasts with exhibiting artists are also planned.

The exhibition offers the opportunity to experience tattoo art in a different context and to promote exchange between artists and the public.
