Buenos Aires in the 90s: At the age of 27, Silvia Prieto decides to change her life. She stops smoking weed and looks for a job. When she learns that there is another woman with her name, she develops an obsession with the other Silvia and with the mystery of her own identity.

Carried by its imaginative, fast-paced dialog and an occasionally hilariously absurd plot, Silvia Prieto is imbued with a pop aesthetic that reveals a gently ironic fascination with garish logos, television slogans and the contradictory world of consumer culture. The result is an unspectacular, laconically developed film that creates a kaleidoscopic image of Argentine society after the dictatorship and at the same time draws a conclusion of globalized boredom and illusionlessness.

Flingern-Lichtspiele

The summer open-air cinema in Flingern. Every Thursday and Saturday in August, we show a total of eight films on the terrace behind the building. The projections start after dark, admission is from 21:00. Folding chairs and deckchairs are available and there is a bar. If it rains, we will show the films indoors. Free admission - donations are welcome.
