Gerriet K. Sharma presents his sound installation "simmrrrrn 2.1.". The work consists of a series of six sequential sound sculptures for two 3-9-3 3D audio sound projectors and a subwoofer. It deals explicitly with the (im)possibilities of ephemeral sound sculptures as an experienced reality resulting from virtuality.
"simmrrrn" uses strategies of amateurism, minimalism, Dada and glitch to professionalize them in XR and higher quality speaker environments. The aim is to counter the flawless appearance of common media products and promote a fundamental aesthetic examination of immersive effects and phenomena. The work formulates an invitation to listeners to participate in an expanded ontology of sonic spatial art by composing sound as space.
