Sinfoniekonzert Clair de lune

François Leleux, famous oboist, subtle conductor and designated Artistic Director of the KAP, comes to Potsdam together with harpist Isabelle Moretti and performs Claude Debussy's impressionistic sound paintings alongside detailed fairy tales by Maurice Ravel and great works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Full of sophistication, Ravel creates a unique sound world for each of the fairy tales, in which Sleeping Beauty, the Little Thumbelina or Beauty and the Beast come to life in sound. "I have a deep admiration for Debussy the musician and man," Ravel once said of his Parisian colleague, whose music is full of color and inventiveness. Mozart also served as an inspiration for both composers. For his third trip to Paris, he composed a symphony to please the audience there, and so he wrote a work full of effects and splendor, rich in surprises and contrasts.
