Sinfoniekonzert: Miracles

An extraordinary debut: Giorgi Gigashvili, born in Tbilisi in 2000, is a pianist, jazz musician and arranger. He plays in clubs as well as in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and proves once again how versatile the classical concert can be. Together with François Leleux, he has put together a program that combines the music of Joseph Haydn with elements of jazz.

Inspired by traditional folk melodies, Bohuslav Martinů duets romantic timbres with cheeky jazz motifs in his Sinfonietta. Keith Jarrett is undoubtedly one of the style-defining musicians of contemporary improvisation and also inspired Giorgi Gigashvili in his arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach's Concerto in D minor. The whimsical, mystical motifs are taken up again in Joseph Haydn's symphony, bringing the evening to an atmospheric close.
