The late Romantic program music "The Planets" by Gustav Holst was a major influence. In particular, the music of the planet Mars - the bringer of war - has been used or quoted in many feature films and computer games.
Music in general has a huge impact on its listeners and in movies it always supports the action.
What would a movie be without music? The emotional impact on the audience, the goosebump moments, would not be experienced nearly as intensely.
But listen and see for yourself.
