In the final hours of 2024 - before the corks pop, the glasses clink and the new resolutions remain the same anyway - music director Stefan Klingele fulfills a long-cherished wish: to conduct a big band for once. The brass section of the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra and the vocal ensemble join in and present a full sound, fulmination, brilliance and a rhythm that you can't help but join in with. They poach loudly in foreign waters and drive out the old year with songs by Frank Sinatra, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington. The program is hosted by entertainer and our "Dolly" Gayle Tufts, who has become a Bremen audience favourite thanks to her rebellious charm and unmistakable Denglish. It's showtime!
