Opera gala for the 1st Advent

Sir Bryn Terfel and Ailyn Pérez are among the most sought-after opera stars in the world.

The Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel has received numerous awards, including two GRAMMY Awards for Best Classical Vocal Performance and Best Opera Recording. The opera star was knighted by the Queen in 2017 for his services to music. In 2023, Sir Bryn Terfel sang at the coronation service in Westminster Abbey in London for King Charles III and at the coronation concert at Windsor Castle. The opera star was therefore the only artist to be given the honor of performing at both ceremonies.

Chicago-born star soprano Ailyn Pérez is also an award-winner and is celebrated internationally by audiences and the press. The New York Times, for example, raved: "Pérez is rightly the undisputed star: wistful, tender and sincere, her voice... generously delivered, her high notes sparkling." Ailyn Pérez completed her studies in 2006. In the same year, she won 2nd prize at the prestigious Operalia competition and toured with Italian star tenor Andrea Bocelli. Since then, the star soprano has sung on the great opera stages in New York, Berlin, Milan, London and Vienna.

For the 1st Advent, the opera stars will now present a festive opera gala together with the Würth Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of their chief conductor Claudio Vandelli. The Würth Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 2017 and is the resident orchestra of the Carmen Würth Forum. The renowned orchestra performs with important artists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter, Elīna Garanča, Emmanuel Pahud, Hélène Grimaud, Khatia Buniatishvili, Rudolf Buchbinder and Cecilia Bartoli.
