OY & Acid Burrito open the Sirup series at the Summer Nights in the Herrenhausen Gardens

With Sirup, kargah is launching a new concert series with various venues in Hanover that blurs musical boundaries and puts the spotlight on female* artists. In the first event of the series, kargah and the Herrenhausen Gardens are collaborating as part of their summer nights on August 9.

Sound without borders

The series kicks off with two acts that stand for sonic diversity, artistic independence and strong performances: OY (Berlin/Ghana/Switzerland) and Acid Burrito (Hanover/Colombia) bring their unmistakable sound to the stage, always reinventing themselves - unexpectedly and powerfully!

OY, the duo consisting of Joy Frempong (vocals, keys) and Melodydreamer (drums, production), combines Afrobeats, electronica, jazz and hip-hop into a musical statement on their latest album "World Wide We". Personal, political, multi-stylistic. OY has already toured four continents with it. Now they are celebrating the start of "Sirup" at the Summer Nights in the Herrenhausen Gardens

Acid Burrito brings the club vibe straight from Hanover: their DJ sets are a vibrant mix of Caribbean sounds and electronic bass - influenced by their Colombian roots and an open ear for global rhythms.

Sirup is a new stage for sounds that don't want to be categorized. Music that forges its own path - flowing, empowering, multidimensional. Female* acts in focus, diversity in sound, attitude in expression.
