Due to the current political tensions, Israeli and Iranian musicians living in Berlin have come together to seek dialog through the universal language of music. The artistic exchange process is intended to facilitate an open and sensitive approach to the conflict.
In order to express the religious elements as well as the more modern, national identity of the cultures, the musicians draw on folkloric and religious melodies from klezmer, Sephardic and traditional Persian music as well as modern and classical compositions.
In the final part, the different melodies and motifs in the pieces composed especially for this program merge into a synthetic unity. With symbolic value: different characteristics do not necessarily lead to conflict - but also to enrichment.
