Siyou meets Hellmut Hattler. Two musicians from very different traditions merge in unheard-of harmony. The musical backgrounds of singer Siyou and bassist Hellmut Hattler are very different. Siyou Isabelle Ngnoubamdjum was born in Cameroon and grew up in Germany as the daughter of a pastor and an aid worker. Her heart beats for gospel, the religious song form of North American blacks. Hellmut Hattler comes from the German jazz and rock scene and is undisputedly one of the best-known and most creative bassists in Germany. In 1971, he co-founded the legendary band Kraan, whose sound he significantly influenced with his virtuoso and unorthodox electric bass playing.
