Skinny Lister have been at the forefront of top-notch folk/punk in the UK since 2009. After making a splash with the irrepressible energy of their debut album 'Forge and Flagon' in 2012, the London-based band signed to Xtra Mile Recordings for the release of their classic second album 'Down On Deptford Broadway' (2014), establishing a partnership that has spawned four further albums with the label, including 'The Devil, The Heart, The Fight' (2016), 'The Story Is... ' (2019), 'A Matter Of Life & Love' (2021), and most recently 'Shanty Punk'. With their latest work 'Shanty Punk', which was mastered by Frank Arkwright at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, the band delivered their most autobiographical and probably most definitive Skinny Lister album to date. A concept album about the myths and madness that defined Skinny Lister themselves. It was warmly received by The Morning Star, who praised it in a 5-star review, "If you're feeling under the weather and in need of a festive pick-me-up, exuberant Deptford sextet Skinny Lister are the cure, the balm no Christmas season can do without. Ever.", while RNR Magazine praised the record as 'very good...raw! (4*).
The band's career continues and with each album and tour their wealth of experience grows. They have led an endless parade, gathering fans old and new, from the prestigious folk circuit to the riotous Download Festival, igniting bopping mosh pits everywhere. Over the past decade, they've traveled from rain-soaked London to the wide arteries of the US, jumped from the narrow boat to the Salty Dog Cruise, played huge tours of Europe and North America, and headlined festivals, sweatboxes and ever-larger venues. They've performed with some of the most tenacious live acts around, from Dropkick Murphys to Frank Turner, Boy George, Beans on Toast to The Bouncing Souls, not to mention reinvigorating their US fanbase with an epic tour of America with Flogging Molly in 2023; Skinny Lister's formidable live reputation more than does them credit.
And now, with the tantalizing promise of new material on the horizon, you can catch Skinny Lister on tour this year performing songs from the new album 'Songs From The Yonder' at a venue near you.
