The British ambient/dream pop band Slowdive have announced new dates in Germany for April 2025.

Seven years ago, a comeback of sorts not only took us by surprise, it was virtually unprecedented in its history. A band that had become the state-of-the-art of guitar wall-influenced pop music in the 90s (we're deliberately avoiding the limiting term "shoegaze" here) and had actually disappeared completely from the scene with their third album, presented an album in 2016 that was not only their "comeback album", but was also undisputedly able to set new standards. In sound, in songwriting attitude and in the dedicated awareness of wanting to create a new form of sonic aesthetics. With this record, a band met a young audience that had obviously rediscovered their oeuvre over the many years of their disappearance, and Slowdive also succeeded in casting a milestone in sound with their self-penned album. After that, everything was different and the band was much, much bigger than it had ever been before its break-up in the late 90s. The first single "Kisses" from the album "Everything Is Alive" (release date: 01.09.23) already showed where the "new" journey would take them: psychedelic soundscapes meet pulsating 80s electronic elements and John Cale-inspired avant-garde passages. A journey that will also take them back to Germany in April 2025.
