Smoothin Groovin teams up with Eck Echo to shake an almighty tropical cocktail for a perfect ending to 2025's Fete de La Musique
Our first star guest is Peruvian cultural eminence and record digger Alfredo Villar (DJ Sabroso), who will take his legendary "chicha" and other bizarrely funky South American records for a delightful spin. He will also be presenting his book "Papa Huayco", a fictional biography of Chacalón, the timeless hero of Peruvian cumbia. Book copies and exclusive artworks by Peruvian painter "MONKY" will be available.
We're honored to be joined by the amazing Dj Ra Mava, from South Africa's Eastern Cape, and his love for music. As the 1990s turned into the 2000s, his siblings' tastes began to rub off on one another, opening Mava's mind and ears to kwaito, house, and hip-hop.
Joining the decks is our Colombian huntress Calamidades Lola with a fresh record stash from her last visit to her hometown in Barranquilla. DJ support with satisfaction guaranteed by Eck Echo's DJ Qrichi and Romanian smoothies Tru:L & Bogdan D.
Delicious tortillas de verde with queso inside or on top, tastefully provided by Veggie EC - Ecuadorian bites made freshly with love for our community.
