So ein Müll! Eine schwedische Ausstellung über das Neudenken von Ressourcen

The exhibition "What a waste! - a Swedish exhibition about rethinking resources" invites visitors to reflect on their own role in the ecosystem and uses examples from Sweden to show how creative ideas, innovative technologies and a rethink in society can help to protect our environment and change the way we use resources - away from waste and towards valuable raw materials that can be reused or recycled as part of a circular system.

The exhibition combines artworks by Swedish artist Mattias Käll from the "Förpackad " (Packed) project with informative elements from the Swedish Institute's "Redefining Waste" exhibition and brings together different perspectives to create a constructive discussion about how we deal with waste.

For the "Förpackad" project, Mattias Käll collected all of his family's plastic waste in orange bin bags over the course of a year. Month after month, he took these bags out into nature and documented the growing amount with his camera. The result is twelve photographs that make us think about our plastic consumption. In addition to the photographs, "So ein Müll" shows an installation in which a year's worth of plastic waste is placed on a cast of the legs of the artist's then 12-year-old son, as well as a videographic work on the subject of microplastics.

The elements of the exhibition "Redefining Waste" by the Swedish Institute show Sweden's handling of different types of waste and present various Swedish measures and successes in waste prevention or the conversion of waste into recyclable resources.

With natural resources becoming increasingly scarce and environmental damage becoming more and more noticeable, action is needed. By working together and rethinking together, we can achieve the green transition and shape a sustainable and liveable future.
