Welcome back to the next Sound of Liberation festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year under the moniker Sol Sonic Ride Pt. II. "Back in 2005 Sound of Liberation has started as a one man company with the passion for independent & underground heavy rock music", begins the self-description of the fine bookin agency Sound Of Liberation... the rest is history. And a damn good one, which once again presents us with an outstanding stoner/desert/psych/prog/heavy rock festival of a kind. To mark the anniversary, King Buffalo from the hazy echo chambers of upstate New York are doing the honors; we'd like to introduce them as the long-distance runners among psychedelic rockers. They are joined by desert worshipper Brant Bjork, formerly Fu Manchu, in a trio line-up (with Ryan Güt on drums and bassist Mario Lalli), My Sleeping Karma with their instrumental groove psychedelia, the Southern stoner Valley Of The Sun from Ohio, the space/stoner Daily Thompson, the power trio The Machine ("Doused in space, soaked in riffs"), Einseinseins, who add a dose of post-punk to the whole line-up, and other acts.
