Solokonzert Dean Newman

Dean Newman is a Welsh-born songwriter, blues guitarist and singer who has lived in Bochum for over 20 years. Music has accompanied him from an early age, as he comes from a musical family.

His father, Cal Newman, a blues legend from Wales, was a great inspiration to him. After his death in 2014, he took over his instruments, which he now uses in his performances.

His music is strongly rooted in the blues tradition, but he also incorporates influences from folk, jazz and rock. His playing style is powerful and emotional, often characterized by personal stories and experiences. With his band, "Dean & The Blue Bros", he regularly performs in Bochum and the surrounding area. They play their own songs as well as cover versions of well-known blues, country and rockabilly songs, which has earned him a loyal fan base.
