Sommerfest der Monacensia

In the organizer's words:

What the City. Perspectives on our city

The Monacensia is the city's literary memory - but what actually defines this city? Together with Munich authors, the Monacensia explores the question of how green, cozy or glittering Munich really is.

Between 3 and 6 pm, six authors will be reading literary texts in the Monacensia garden that shed light on the city from different perspectives: How does poverty shape life in the "wealthy" city? What does queer self-image mean in the urban space? And how do anti-racist movements change the image of Munich as an urban society?

Reading: Daniel Bayerstorfer, Uisenma Borchu, Jan Geiger, Lena Gorelik, Volha Hapeyeva and Elvira Steppacher

From 7.30 pm, the Munich band "Lucile and the Rakibuam" will take over the musical program with their electronic folk sound.

The Monacensia summer festival takes place whatever the weather. Picnic blankets are recommended for maximum relaxation in the sun.
