Walter Hill, one of the great action directors of the 1970s and 1980s, created a blueprint for the action movie genre with this gang war film. With its cool look, driving soundtrack and graphic novel-like scenes, this surprising box office success quickly became a cult film. Originally released by the FSK from 18 and later even indexed due to alleged youth endangerment, FSK 12 was awarded in a new review - such are the changing times.
