In his first feature-length documentary, Fatih Akin accompanies the bassist of Einstürzende Neubauten Alexander Hacke on his musical journey of discovery through Istanbul. From street musicians to Turkish megastars, from rock to jazz and rap to folk music, Hacke captures the diverse, multiculturally influenced sounds of Istanbul with a mobile recording studio that he carries with him at all times, sometimes even playing spontaneously with the Turkish musicians. The film, which celebrates the unifying power of art across the boundaries of politics, generations, East and West with infectious energy, has been newly restored - a captivating crossover experience between traditional and modern music in the heart of the pulsating metropolis on the Bosphorus.
