Under the direction of Leslie Suganandarajah, music director at the Salzburg State Theatre, the Hessen State Youth Symphony Orchestra (LJSO) will perform a powerful program full of emotion and virtuosity in the hr-Sendesaal in Frankfurt: from Beethoven's dramatic Coriolan Overture to Elgar's deeply moving Cello Concerto, in which soloist Konstanze Pitschmann shines on the cello, to Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade. In the latter work, the ensemble uses dazzling soundscapes to tell the story of the main character, based on the tales from One Thousand and One Nights.
The LJSO Hessen brings together talented young musicians aged 13 to 22 from all over Hesse. The sponsoring orchestra of the hr-Sinfonieorchester regularly proves at its concerts that high standards know no age limits and delights its audience with a palpable joy of playing.
