Sommerstraßen

In the organizer's words:

Summer streets are temporarily closed or traffic-calmed streets where residents can use vacated parking spaces for more greenery, play areas for children, art, culture, meeting places for the neighborhood, pop-up cafés and other activities.

The aim is to make the public street space a new experience, improve the quality of life and strengthen the neighborhood. The state capital provides the appropriate framework and is responsible for the traffic layout and equipping the areas with the city's own furniture.

The use of the open space gained is primarily reserved for residents and local initiatives. The summer streets thrive on their commitment and are to be shaped by them through planned activities or spontaneous, neighborly gatherings.

Venue: in Alvenslebenstraße in Alt-Saarbrücken and in the adjacent Campusallee of the HTW Saar.
