SON Estrella Galicia präsentiert: Σtella

After a successful start in March, SON Estrella Galicia is continuing its mission to bring exceptional live music experiences to Berlin. Following the announcement of garage rock icons Black Lips in September and punk band Lambrini Girls in December, the next concert has now been confirmed: Greek indie pop sensation Σtella will be performing at Gretchen on November 27. With their cross-genre sound, this concert promises to be another highlight in the series.

After 16 years in Spain and successful offshoots in the UK, Portugal, the USA, Brazil and Uruguay, SON Estrella Galicia is bringing its unique musical experience and its philosophy of sustainability and community to Germany for the first time! With three exciting concerts, the Bi Nuu & Gretchen venues will be transformed into a vibrant cultural hotspot - with live music, craft beer, street food and art - all with a sustainable touch.

The headliner of the evening is Greek indie pop sensation Σtella (pronounced Stella). She recently released her new album "Adagio" on Sub Pop. "Adagio" is a pop record that feels like a warm blanket - it wraps its listeners in nylon string guitars, feather-light percussion, psychedelic keyboards and staccato drums.

The album was created over a period of five years in collaboration with an international group of contributors, including Rafael Cohen from !!! and British songwriter Gabriel Stebbing. "Adagio" is a 27-minute meditation on love and desire, peace and time.

Although the majority - as with all her previous albums - is sung in English, Σtella presents two songs in Greek for the first time with "Omorfo Mou" and a cover version of the Greek new wave cult classic "Ta Vimata" by Litsa Sakellariou from 1969. "Adagio" follows her sub-pop debut "Up and Away" from 2022, which earned her more than three million monthly listeners on Spotify as well as prominent placements in the MAX series "Industry" and in an online commercial for H&M.
