The online tickets for the Greenhouses & Tropical Butterflies are sold out.
You can buy tickets on site at the main box office every day. These time slot tickets are only valid on the same day.
Currently (until the end of the exhibition on March 9), tickets are usually sold out from around 12 noon.

Butterflies flying free

Every year in the winter months, the Munich-Nymphenburg Botanical Garden offers a special opportunity to experience tropical butterflies up close in the aquatic plant house of the show greenhouses. The pupae come from special butterfly farms in Costa Rica and the Philippines. Just a few days after their arrival in the hot and humid climate of the greenhouse, they hatch and fly freely in the aquatic plant house. With a bit of luck, you can observe mating, egg-laying, caterpillar stages and pupation on site. In this way, the entire life cycle of the butterflies can be experienced.

Admission only with time slot tickets

Space in the aquatic plant house is very limited. For this reason, we only offer time slot tickets during the butterfly exhibition.

It is necessary to book a time slot (also for children with Free admission under 12 years and annual pass holders). Children under the age of 4 do not need a ticket.
