Attention music lovers! An exciting and innovative event format is celebrating its second show on Wednesday, June 11 at 7 pm: the SongSlam Dortmund. This modern music competition not only offers talented musicians a stage, but also actively invites the audience to help shape the evening. The SongSlam is all about interaction. The audience plays a decisive role here: they judge the performances and help decide which musicians make it to the final. This means joining in the excitement, helping to decide and experiencing real live music up close! it takes place as part of the Zahl was Du willst series. The audience decides the ticket price!

What is a songslam?
A SongSlam is a modern competition that gives both local and regional artists the opportunity to showcase their talent. Especially in smaller cities, this format contributes to the promotion of the young talent scene and strengthens cultural diversity. In contrast to traditional concerts or established competitions, the SongSlam relies less on a jury and more on the audience as an active part of the evening. This makes every event unique and exciting.

How does aSongSlamwork?
At the SongSlam, up to 6 musicianscompete against each other with songs they have written themselves - without any props or playback. In the first round, eachparticipant performstwo songs. After a short break, the audience decides who goes through to the final. There, the two highest scorers compete against each other again until the winnerisfinallydetermined. Voting takes place either by a show of hands or with scorecards distributed among the audience.

Salomon Hofstötter brings a wild mix of songmaking, comedy, rap and acoustic punk with his self-created genre "Unpop" - clever, funny, sad and absolutely worth listening to.
Indra Sani, the flamenco dancer from Bonn, delights with sensitive, multilingual songwriting - touching and powerful at the same time.
Van Demian, the young songwriter from Bonn, convinces with honest lyrics and catchy melodies between folk, pop and street poetry.
taal, the FLINTA indie duo from Cologne, will take you on a moving journey through intimate, atmospheric soundscapes - with heart, attitude and dedication.
