Elfriede Jelinek's Sun / Air / Ashes takes a look at destruction and decay, at grief and the effects of human hubris. In the three parts, the text explores the pressing issues of our time: Climate change, loss and the question of what remains when everything fades away.

The world is finally coming to an end, and we were promised nothing, because the world will never rise again.

From the fire-breathing world of the sun and the diminishing air to desperate descriptions of our failed utopias of progress in ashes, Nobel Prize winner Elfriede Jelinek is, as usual, challenging: humorous, angry and touching. The ensemble confronts Elfriede Jelinek's intense linguistic surfaces, which are a mixture of baroque imagery and reduced symbolism and invite us on a journey that is as poetic as it is artistic and radical. A dialog between all the contradictions in a triptych about loss and climate change.
