SOPHIA OSTER QUARTET

The young pianist, singer and composer Sophia Oster is undoubtedly one of the most promising musical newcomers and has already earned herself a worthy place in the jazz world. She recorded her debut album "Jubilation" with her quintet in 2021 and can be heard in a wide variety of formations. Her quartet with the multi-award-winning saxophonist Konstantin Herleinsberger, the US-born bassist Paul Imm, who has toured with jazz greats such as Lee Konitz and Rosemary Clooney, and the young Brazilian drummer Rafael Müller, who has quickly made a name for himself in the Hamburg jazz scene, allows her to return to the traditional quartet line-up, in which great artistic and improvisational freedom is possible within her compositions. In addition to her own compositions, the musician is also inspired by the music of Brazilian artists such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Milton Nascimento or Djavan, as well as Wayne Shorter, Joni Mitchell, George Gershwin and many more. The young musician's music is diverse, colorful, powerful and gentle at the same time,
and gains great authenticity through her loving dedication.
