Free, outdoors and under palm trees: this summer, the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival will once again transform the Humboldt Forum's large Schlüterhof courtyard into a lively meeting place for sound, rhythm and culture.

Over four weekends, music from all over the world will radiate from the stage: from the raw energy of Mexican cumbia punk to the hypnotic groove of Kenyan dodo blues, from the electrifying syncopation of Congolese soukous to the powerful messages of Afrofuturist big bands. Japanese folk with a Caribbean influence, soulful jazz, hip-hop and the joy and resilience of the Frafra gospel round off this celebration of sound - boundless, multi-perspective and irresistibly danceable!

Sophye Soliveau (France)

Sophye Soliveau is a singer, harpist and choir director. Her love of Afro-American music - from R'n'B to soul and gospel - has its roots in her childhood. She deepened her musical skills through classical training. Soliveau's work stems from the need to overcome pain and share emotions. She celebrates joy and explores trance-like states, always in search of an intense, immersive sound experience, be it solo, in a trio or in a sextet.

Her passion for vocal harmony - from Francis Poulenc to Angie Stone and Bobby McFerrin - makes her voice an instrument in its own right. Collective creation, improvisation and the integration of the body into the work with voice and music are at the heart of her artistic approach with the various ensembles.
